In our Livsrum we have a simple Garden Café.
You can enjoy various pastries and drinks here.
In our Garden Café we also serve waffles.
We always have gluten- and lactose-free items.
There are pleasant places to sit both inside and out, so you can “just hang” whatever the weather!
The Café is open when the Farm Shop is open or there is some event on.
As the season progresses the selection in our Farm Shop changes, as we only sell our own organically-grown and quality-certified vegetables.
In May there are spring greens and asparagus. From July to September we offer all kinds of vegetables as they are ready.
We don’t carry a great deal of each variety as we opt for quality over quantity. Some vegetables, fruits and berries we refine on a small scale, so that you can taste our own chutney, juice, jams and marmalades.
From our good friends you will find, for example, Swiss almonds, ice cream, rapeseed oil and honey from beehives on the farm.
If you are interested in cultivation, we sell some of the growing aids that we ourselves use and believe in.
The Farm Shop is open on Fridays in May and September, and Thursdays and Fridays in July and August.
Always 14.00-19.00
During the seasons we have open Garden Days on certain weekends. In 2025 they will be on the following Sundays
Lands OPEN GARDEN 20/07 11.00-18.00
GARDEN DAY with guided tour 10/08 11.00-16.00
You can then enjoy what the garden has to offer in the way of cultivation and floral splendour.
There is always something to see in the Livsrum, and you can also have a coffee break here in our café, Trädgårdskafé, which on the above days, also sells waffles.
We look forward to fun encounters with other garden enthusiasts!
There are several ways to participate in a guided tour or have a consultation in our garden:
Every Thursday and Friday during the Farm Shop opening times, you can join our master gardener and guide Peder for an open tour.
The tours start at 17.00 and take about 40 minutes. You do not need to book in advance just buy a ticket in the Farm Shop.
In May the focus is on asparagus, later we will look at what is in season at that time.
In the case of bad weather, a pleasant experience can be had in the greenhouse.
You can also book a private tour, a family tour or a consultation.
There is lots of information to be gleaned, and you get the opportunity to put your questions to Peder.
If you have children with you, we do a family tour combined with tastings. The group can be max 6 people and costs 400kr/40 minutes.
For larger groups contact us by email or telephone.
Carlsson’s walk
Around the farm property we have created a lovely walking path of about 1 km.
We call it “Carlsson’s walk” after Ander Carlsson who at the beginning of the 1900s bought Björnhyltan, and built the dwelling house, warehouse and brewery.
He cultivated a large part of the farm’s fields and laid all the stone he “found” into stone walls and French ditches.
Along the walking path you can, in selected places, read about the history of the farm and village and about life gone by on a farm such as Björnhyltan.
At one of these places you get a beautiful view over the farm as you see here on our website!
Carlsson’s walk is open when the Farm Shop is open and on Garden Days.
At Björnhyltan there is always something for children to do. For those curious about animals and nature there are hens, sheep and many insects. In the ponds one can sometimes spot newts…
There are plants of different types to investigate, not least all the different vegetables and exotic fruits, such as nectarines, figs and grapes.
By the henhouse is “The children’s workplace” with the opportunity to dig and build.
If you are wondering how Lennart’s Bees are doing in their beehive, you can take a walk there and get information on bees and pollinators. Also take a turn on the hammock swing in the oak tree. If you walk a little further, you will come to the sheep pasture.
P.S. Remember to check whether the hens have laid any eggs as you pass the henhouse – you can see that through the window!
